As 2025 draws to a close, art enthusiasts in Saigon have gathered once again in the inspiring atmosphere of Petit Art Space (92 -96 Lê Lợi, Sài Gòn, Viet Nam) to contemplate BABEL, a unique exhibition bringing together seven artists, each masterfully employing distinct materials and techniques.
Despite their diverse visual languages, all works within BABEL converge at a single intersection: reflections on the profound disconnection within modern society. In an ever-moving world, BABEL serves as a contemplative pause, inviting us to examine the fractures in communication and human empathy.
An Emotional Homecoming
For me personally, acting as the representative for Artist Mai Tran in Vietnam, this exhibition holds a truly special significance.
Since her debut solo exhibition in her homeland back in 2020, Mai Tran has tirelessly pursued an international artistic journey, featuring in nearly 50 consecutive exhibitions across the United States. After five years dedicated to North American printmaking studios and galleries, her meticulous and deeply narrative woodblock prints have officially returned to reunite with the Vietnamese audience in 2025.
There is a profound joy not only in seeing these art pieces displayed within the elegant walls of Petit Art Space but also in the emotion of sharing such humanistic artistic messages after a long and dedicated journey.
