During my time as Lead Designer for The Natural Leaf (also known as Plantrip Cha / Plantrip Thé Des Arts), my role extended far beyond the long-term, overarching brand projects that carried the consistent breath of the brand identity. I was also entrusted with nearly every other design project – specifically those related to packaging and various print collaterals.
This experience, often focused on smaller, yet incredibly vital, tasks, provided me with profound insights. I learned the critical art of selecting and collaborating with printing partners, absorbing new techniques and innovations that evolved yearly within the industry.
It was a constant education from the ground up. On the flip side, I gained a deep appreciation for the customer’s perspective.
- How would they perceive our packaging on the shelf?
- How would they interact with the information layout when holding the product in their hands, no matter how simple or elaborate the item?
Some of these projects were truly small in scale. Yet, treating every single design – even the smallest label or flyer – with the utmost respect and dedication was paramount. For me, it wasn’t just about finishing a task, it was a clear demonstration of my seriousness and commitment in a leadership design role. It taught me that genuine design excellence resides not just in grand visions, but in the meticulous care given to every single detail.
