At Dim Sum, Don’t Forget the Tea

The Art of Tea Pairing at Kabin
It was an honor of leading a tea training session at Kabin, one of Saigon’s most beloved Chinese restaurants. Renowned for its a la carte dim sum menu and authentic dishes from Sichuan and Canton, Kabin is a culinary gem at the Renaissance Riverside Saigon, helmed by a talented team of Hong Kong chefs.
The topic of the day was a perfect match for the setting: Chinese Dim Sum and Tea Pairings [Supplied by The Natural Leaf (Plantrip Cha, Plantrip Thé Des Arts)]. We explored how to perfectly match some of China’s most famous teas—many of which are on Kabin’s menu—with their classic dishes.
This was my first time leading a training session, and it was a truly inspiring experience. As I shared my passion for tea, I saw the team’s genuine interest and enthusiasm grow. It was in that moment that I truly understood how a passionate conversation about tea can be so deeply inspiring. It’s not just about the flavor or the history, it’s about connecting with people and sharing the tea stories.
